The official NOAA data for February is in and the trend that has been ongoing now for 13 years is continuing.  Various world data sets are reporting the absence of any significant global warming since 1998 despite the continuing rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.  For the contiguous U.S. there not only is no significant warming but instead we are seeing a significant cooling trend of 9.3 deg F/ century.

Most Recent 12-Month Period (Mar – Feb) Temperature
Contiguous United States

Most Recent 12-Month Period (Mar – Feb) 1998 – 2011 Average = 54.05 degF
Most Recent 12-Month Period (Mar – Feb) 1998 – 2011 Trend = -0.93 degF / Decade

Despite rising C02 levels over this period, the cooling trend for the contiguous U.S. continues. None of the IPCC computer models predicted this.

It boggles my mind that this doesn’t get press coverage. Daily, I see crap about global warming but never do I see reports about actual cooling trends like this.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the Global warming folks did not have to depend on Gov grants to
prove what the the green feds already believe. I think a month camping vacation during the winter in Quebec would slant their un-scientific minds.
Has anyone told them that CO2 is a trace element and is essential to all plant growth.
Here we have an element in the atmosphere that is < .04 percent of the air and the Greenies tell us it is a pollutant.
