Evidence of “Global Cooling” — September, 2010.

It never ceases to amaze me that so many people confuse weather with climate.  It is one thing when the political clowns run around and point to weather events as some kind of omen associated with global warming but when people who should know better (those who are schooled in the sciences) do it, it makes me question either their motives or their credentials.  Recently, a colleague (a science teacher) posted a link on her facebook page to an article in the British newspaper, The Guardian.  The article was pure rubbish for many reasons but the one that stood out to me was the blatant attempt to extrapolate (it perhaps is deliberate) from local weather events (heat waves, a drought, etc.) a global climatic change.

I have noticed that this is done on a constant basis by the global warming activists because it is so easy to do—in any given year or season there are always extraordinary weather events that the uninitiated might be swayed into associating with global warming.  So, to counter this illogical drivel I will be presenting on a regular basis some of my own compilations of weather events.  Unlike the global warming activists, I make no claims about the implications for these reports.  I present them merely as an antidote for that which is presented by people who should know better.

This list is by no means exhaustive, just a representative sample of some recent “evidence” (wink wink) of global cooling.

I too become extremely irked whenever I hear people confuse weather with climate. So glad you posted this.

What? You mean the global warming people sherry pick from weather events to buttress their stupid claims? I am shocked. Thank you, sir.
